Summer Tasters Notes
Maloy O’Neill Chardonnay -
Apple, pear, and oak on the nose…apple, toasted oak, and mineral on the
palate. Shellfish, grilled halibut, and
warm brie on baguettes work great with this wine.
Midnight Cellars Chardonnay - Green apple and light oak on
the nose; apple, oak, and a touch of yeast on the palate. Shellfish---clams and oysters---as well as,
say, a nice crab dip (ours) work really
well with this Westside Paso wine.
Three Wine Riesling - A nice alternative to Chardonnay. Apple, kiwi, and melon on the nose and
palate. Pasta Carbonara, Chicken
Marsala, and rich pesto dishes pair really well with this dry Riesling.
Harmony Riesling - A medium dry Riesling that rocks with
stir fry, Sushi, and Thai with peanut sauce.
Peach, coconut, and pear on the nose; Peach, pear, and a touch of honey
on the palate. The cool blue bottle tops
it off, don’t you think?
Filippi Grenache Rose’ - Strawberry, raspberry, and bing
cherry on the nose; strawberry and cold crushed raspberry on the palate. Great picnic wine (try it with cold KFC!), it
also goes great with shrimp cocktail.
Midnight Rose’ - Strawberry and cherry on the nose;
strawberry, kiwi, and a little watermelon on the palate. The wine pairs great with Sunday brunch, peel
‘n eat shrimp, and grilled vegetables.
Twin Coyotes Pinot Noir - Dried cherry, pomegranate, plum,
and a touch of spice on the palate make this a great wine to serve with grilled
salmon, roast turkey, and Coq au Vin (look it up!). A full flavored Pinot (too
many wimpy ones out there) that we usually sell out of pretty fast. We’ll try and get more!
Easy Ed - A blend of Cabernet and Syrah. Lots of blueberry,
black cherry, and toasted oak on the nose and palate. Tannins are soft enough
to pair with fish, yet there is enough body and flavor to compliment chicken,
roasted pork, and most red meat.
Whatever you’re having for dinner, this wine will work!
Midnight Cellars Full Moon - The Full Moon Red is a user
friendly, lighter styled, everyday wine. Bright red fruit, (think strawberries
and raspberries) with just a little oak and spice. This is our “while cooking
dinner” wine. Easy going but interesting enough to drink with anything.
Seriously.
Twin Coyotes Merlot - Black cherry, raspberry and spice on
the nose; Cherry and oak on the palate (what happened to the spice?). Roast leg of lamb, venison medallions, and if
all else fails…pot roast!
Three Wine Zinfandel - Tons of raspberry, loganberry, and a
touch of oak on the palate. Nice with
roasted garlic, pesto, and marinara…Mile High’s number is 4848…just remember to
share!
Maloy O’Neil Syrah - Blueberry, white pepper, and a hint of
cherry are all over this really inky wine.
Smooth finish compliments grilled sausage, herb roasted chicken, grilled
salmon.
Dutch Henry Cabernet - Plum, cherry, and clove on the
nose….cherry, cassis, and dark chocolate on the palate. Thick Porterhouse with lots of garlic and
black pepper….more garlic and pepper….finish with more black pepper. Now grill to medium rare…take a bite…taste the
wine. Screw Judgement Day, I’m staying
here!
